Hours and Contract
37.5 hour week – flexible across 6 days (Monday‑Saturday). Permanent summer contract – 50 weeks (5 weeks off in summer break, plus 22 days holiday).
About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with students in school settings and enable them to reach their potential by assessing sensory, motor and self‑care skills for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your responsibilities include:
* Conducting comprehensive assessments of students’ needs for EHCPs
* Developing and implementing individualised intervention plans
* Collaborating with teachers, parents and other professionals to integrate goals into the learning environment
* Evaluating intervention effectiveness and providing training to teaching staff
* Maintaining accurate documentation and participating in multidisciplinary meetings
Essential Criteria
* HCPC and RCOT registration
* Recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational therapy
Desirable Criteria
* Paediatric occupational therapy experience
* Experience working within a specialist paediatric setting
* Experience working within school settings
* Experience completing assessments for Education, Health, and Care Plans
* Specialist CPD and/or training
* Trauma‑Informed care experience
* Experience working with paediatric social, emotional and mental health needs
