We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Validation Project Engineer (Life Sciences) responsible for leading or contributing to detailed hardware and software design of process automation control systems projects. This includes defining architecture requirements, developing detailed test protocols, software design specifications, functional design specifications, creating SAT/FAT documentation, and contributing to overall control system design.
Location: The role can be based in Albany, Saratoga Springs, Tarrytown (NY), Raleigh-Durham (NC), or Seacoast (NH). Open to early career candidates.
You Will:
1. Review and understand project scope, approach, and design.
2. Review documentation and validation requirements with the project team.
3. Develop required documentation, such as design documents and test protocols, for projects.
4. Review documentation developed by peer engineers.
5. Maintain documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Manage the schedule of documentation required for the project.
7. Identify and define out-of-scope items.
8. Communicate with customers.
9. Understand customer procedures, policies, equipment, and systems.
10. Participate in meetings and training sessions.
11. Assist with investigations.
12. Read and interpret electrical drawings and design documents.
13. Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
14. Develop and maintain estimates for documentation development hours.
15. Manage project responsibilities for oneself.
You Have:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Some exposure to engineering/control system documentation, change control, and a general understanding of GAMP is a plus.
3. A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
