Job Summary
Join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career where your ambition drives your success. Our Professional Sales Representatives earn on average $65K+ annually. Competitive earnings potential includes an hourly base wage plus uncapped commissions on all written sales. The role is responsible for creating sales using exceptional customer service and knowledge of the La-Z-Boy selling process, products and services, and for developing long-term customer relationships that lead to increased sales and profitability. Training Pay: $16 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commissions; base rate varies by location). Average Annual Earnings After Training: $50,000 - $70,000+ (base and commission).
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories and services offered by La-Z-Boy
* Promote the Design program and assist the Designer to achieve Design program sales goals
* Consistently execute the La-Z-Boy selling process and provide a favorable customer experience
* Develop and utilize sales skills including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, presentations, handling objections, closing, follow-up, after-sale service
* Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs
* Maintain strong knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product lines
Design Program
* Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs and installation service benefits
* Support the design process following established guidelines
* Support design-related functions in the store
Customer Focus
* Provide the highest level of customer service to all current and future customers
* Ensure an informative and positive experience by using product knowledge and the company selling process
* Use tools to ensure customer satisfaction and future follow-up
* Make sound business decisions to deliver customer satisfaction and promote teamwork
* Respond promptly to phone calls and emails; assist in handling issues or complaints with appropriate solutions
People
* Maintain positive working relationships with store staff
* Assist in training and coaching new peers on product knowledge and selling skills
* Promote a culture of sales and service
Operational Excellence
* Maintain visual appearance of the store and displays; manage product tagging and catalogs
* Accurately complete order information, deposits, fees, and customer records; manage payments and deliveries
* Complete daily system logs and uphold company standards, product knowledge, and processes
* Schedule deliveries with customers and handle store opening/closing duties
Minimum Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Previous selling experience and ability to close a sale strongly preferred
* Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and influence
* Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* Ability to work the schedule dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays
* Initiative to meet goals and motivated to achieve more
* Strong attention to detail
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
Compensation and Hours
Weekly Hours: 40
* Training Pay: $16 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commission)
* Average Annual Earnings After Training: $50,000 - $70,000 (base and commission)
* Total Compensation Range: $22,880 - $80,000+ (will not pay less than state/local minimum wage requirements)
Post-Training Pay: Base Pay $13/hour (varies by store); Commission: UNCAPPED on written sales. Commission structure includes 1-6% monthly sales based on achievement with higher percentages as goals are met, with potential annual income around $66,000 depending on mix of Design sales.
