We are seeking a Therapy Team Manager to lead a specialist team at our Hitchin location. This role offers the opportunity to drive service delivery, manage a multidisciplinary team, and ensure that our therapy services meet the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the planning and delivery of therapy services, ensuring that all treatment programs are effectively managed from referral to discharge.
* Manage the caseload of the therapy team, ensuring efficient service delivery and that the needs of service users are met.
* Lead clinical governance activities, including managing clinical risk and ensuring adherence to national and local policies and guidelines.
* Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the therapy team, including providing leadership and support to team members.
* Chair interdisciplinary team meetings and ensure the smooth collaboration between different professional groups involved in service user care.
* Contribute to service development through involvement in peer review, audits, and outcome measure evaluation.
* Develop and manage your own caseload, providing therapy interventions based on clinical assessments and service user needs.
* Ensure mandatory training and professional development are maintained for all team members.
* Contribute to audit and research activities that support evidence-based practice and the ongoing development of the service.
* Ensure the safe operation of the service, maintaining a safe working environment, and supporting staff in achieving clinical excellence.
Person Specification
Essential
* BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or a related therapy qualification.
* HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist or relevant allied health professional.
* Relevant post-registration training and experience, including leadership experience within a health or social care setting.
* Specialist knowledge of neurological therapy, particularly in relation to brain injury and rehabilitation.
* Proven experience in managing a team, including appraisals, recruitment, and performance management.
* Experience working with clients with neurological conditions and complex clinical needs.
* Ability to apply evidence-based practice and lead a team in delivering high-quality care.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
* Membership with an appropriate Professional Specialist Interest Group (e.g., ACPIN, ACPIVR).
* Experience in managing therapy teams in a rehabilitation or brain injury setting.
