Offer description

Society is in your hands, what are you waiting for? We are currently looking for two talented and motivated Graduate Ecologists to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in ecological consultancy. We work with a hybrid model which for us typically means at least 3 days in the office or on site.

What does the role involve?

As a Graduate Ecologist, you will undertake ecological surveys (habitat surveys and surveys for legally protected species). There will be some report writing, liaising with clients, contractors, and the general public to assist with achieving points relating to land use and ecology for BREEM assessments. You will also be producing habitat and other survey plans and carrying out Ecological Clerk of Works duties.

What do you need?

You'll hold a degree in Ecology or an Ecology-related subject; you might be a fresh graduate, or could have gained some relevant experience at another organisation. The positions can be based in our Cambridge, London or Ipswich offices, but there will be travel to sites and other offices so a full driver's licence is required.

Due to the nature of the work, you may be required to work outside of usual office hours, for example, bat surveys may require night working and reptile surveys/mitigation may require early morning or evening site visits.

What's in it for you?

You’ll experience an inclusive, friendly, and flexible working environment where colleagues are encouraged to grow and develop. A meaningful job where you’ll help to transform society by being a trusted consultant to our clients.

If you believe you have the skill set required and are keen to join a business with genuine opportunities for career progression, then we’d love to hear from you.

Let’s transform society together at Sweco.

We are also an accredited Real Living Wage Employer, which reflects our commitment to fair pay and support for all colleagues. We are proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer and will interview applicants covered by the Equality Act 2010 that opt into the guaranteed interview scheme on the application form and meet the minimum criteria for the role.
