Senior Site Agent
Location: Cheltenham
Purpose of the role
As a Senior Site Agent, you will play a key role on our new major highways project in Cheltenham (M5 J10). You will take responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of your section of works, ensuring performance targets are met and work is completed to the required quality, programme and budget.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day management of site activities, including mobilisation, working closely with the Works Manager and section leads to coordinate resources, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
What will you be doing
* Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive working environment for everyone on site
* Managing the day‑to‑day delivery of a section of works, including supervision of the site team and supply chain
* Planning and coordinating work activities to ensure progress is achieved in line with programme requirements
* Monitoring performance and reporting progress to the Project Manager
* Taking ownership of costs across multiple packages of work, working closely with the commercial team
* Identifying and managing changes in scope across operations, programme, commercial or design
* Managing temporary works requirements and ensuring processes are followed correctly
* Supporting value engineering opportunities and attending client and stakeholder meetings as required
* Ensuring works are delivered using the latest design information and to the correct quality standards
* Completing regular health and safety checks and supporting CDM compliance and audits
* Leading and developing site teams through clear direction, coaching and support
About you
* Strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, with a good understanding of CDM 2015
* Experience managing multiple or large packages of civil engineering works
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, programmes and schedules
* Confident communicator who can work effectively with site teams, subcontractors, designers and clients
* Commercial awareness and the ability to manage costs and identify risks and opportunities
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively
* Relevant qualifications such as HNC (or higher) and certifications including SMSTS and CSCS
* IT confident (Office 365) and comfortable working with digital systems (CAD experience beneficial)
