Assistant Clerk of Works – Leicestershire
Assistant Clerk of Works opportunity based in South Leicestershire, for a growing consultancy, supporting residential and commercial new build and refurbishment projects. The role offers a salary of £35,000 – £40,000, plus car allowance of £5,000, plus a bonus scheme, with hybrid working and long-term remote options. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with experienced Clerks of Works while developing your skills in construction quality monitoring.

Role & Responsibilities
1. Assist in site inspections, reporting on workmanship, materials, and compliance with design specifications.
2. Support Senior Clerks of Works in managing multiple projects and maintaining quality standards.
3. Act as a point of contact for clients and residents, providing updates and addressing queries promptly.
4. Maintain accurate records, including photographs and site notes, in line with the company’s Quality Management System.
5. Liaise with contractors and project stakeholders to resolve issues and support timely project delivery.
6. Promote health and safety compliance on site.
7. Contribute to end-of-defects inspections and snagging processes.
Required Skills & Experience
8. Some previous experience in construction, housing, or a related environment.
9. Exposure to client-facing or resident liaison responsibilities.
10. Basic understanding of materials, trades, construction methods, and relevant regulations.
11. Knowledge of building regulations and quality standards is desirable.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to embrace new technology.
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
14. High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
15. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
