Role Purpose
To provide flexible classroom and pupil support across primary (or secondary, if applicable) settings, ensuring pupils' learning, safety, and wellbeing are maintained during staff absence.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering planned lessons and activities
Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning
Assist with classroom management and behaviour in line with school policies
Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, where required
Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Supervise pupils during lessons, transitions, and breaktimes
Adapt quickly to different school settings, routines, and year groups
Communicate effectively with teaching staff and provide feedback as requiredPerson Specification / Requirements
Previous experience working with children in an educational setting
A flexible, reliable, and professional approach to work
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)Desirable
Experience supporting pupils with SEND
EYFS, KS1, or KS2 experience
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3)
