UK Power Networks is looking for an EHV Project Construction Engineer SAP to join our Capital Programme and Procurement team in Maidstone. This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary of £80,574, car/car allowance, and a 3% bonus. As an EHV Project Construction Engineer SAP, you will be responsible for delivering engineering activities within your project team. Reporting to the Lead Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the construction and delivery of our portfolio of projects, ensuring high standards of safety management throughout. Your expertise will be instrumental in overseeing the management of substation and cabling construction works, operating HV Distribution Protection Systems, and ensuring compliance with UK Power Networks' health and safety policies. You will work closely with Project Managers, Commissioning Engineers, Project Supervisors, electrical fitters, and contractors to deliver all electrical engineering activities on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will also include managing budgets, observing UK Power Networks Operations and Procedures, testing and commissioning HV Distribution Systems, maintaining control and protection systems, and carrying out fault investigations and repairs. In addition to your technical duties, you will provide technical support to the construction team, co-ordinate daily construction and maintenance activities with clients and contractors, and assist the Construction Manager in developing the ongoing Asset Portfolio Plan. You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with CDM and health and safety procedures, developing site-specific health, safety, and environmental procedures, and supervising contractors and staff on site. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and experience in distribution systems ranging from 400V to 132kV. A full driving licence is required, and a Senior Authorised Person status as defined by the Distribution Safety Rules is preferable. Knowledge of Building Services Systems, the ability to read schematic drawings, and relevant safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH are desirable.
