We are seeking a Service Engineer to support our Surgical Workplaces service team.
Getinge is a respected OEM, dedicated to saving lives through manufacturing and maintaining medical devices and solutions. Our Service Team plays a crucial role, responsible for routine servicing, testing, and repairing equipment across hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the UK and Ireland.
You will leverage your technical skills to ensure the optimal operation of our equipment in the field, representing our business and fostering relationships with customers and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
This role is field-based, requiring a self-starter capable of managing your workload independently. You will receive support through regular contact with the Service Office, Service Managers, and our Technical Services Department, which has direct access to manufacturing sites and technical expertise.
The ideal candidate will have a background and relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering. Comprehensive training on Getinge’s equipment will be provided, and your development will be assessed bi-annually through our Engineers’ competency-based banding system, rewarding your growth and learning.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Customer interaction, demonstrating courteous and professional interpersonal skills
* Routine testing and mechanical servicing of equipment
* Fault diagnosis and problem-solving, including electrical and mechanical issues
* Calibration of equipment and reporting faulty or out-of-calibration equipment
* Maintaining stock levels of spare parts for prompt response
* Producing quality service documentation for customers
* Maintaining communication with internal departments and managers
* Following proper procedures for returns and non-conformance reports
* Organizing and prioritizing a dynamic workload to respond efficiently to customer calls
* Participating in out-of-hours standby on a rota basis
* Producing accurate reports and validation documentation as required
* Assisting team members and providing sales leads to relevant managers
* Adhering to Quality System duties and Health & Safety regulations

Requirements:
* Recognized qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds Levels 1 & 2 or equivalent)
* Experience in field-based work
* IT skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems like GForce is a plus
* Strong work ethic and organizational skills
* Positive attitude, teamwork, and initiative; willingness to travel and work away from home
* Flexibility and adaptability under pressure
* Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
