Supply Chain Management

Reporting into the Inventory Stores Manager, you will fulfill the necessary requirements within the Department to meet the Company’s objectives by providing effective leadership to ensure a motivated team and ensure that the team delivers an effective and timeous service to other departments.


KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Maintain and adhere to all packing schedules.
* Ensure receiving and binning on time.
* Ensure timeous delivery of parts to production lines on time and in full.
* Maintain stock integrity at all times.
* Manage time and attendance of reporting staff.
* Assign and allocate tasks to staff as per schedules.
* Take proactive action in minimising shortfalls.
* Ensure that daily cycle count and quarterly stock takes are completed timeously.
* Receive stock and check quantity against the RC1 report for put-away functions.
* Attend, Investigate and resolve queries with relating to your warehouse and report any discrepancies to the inventory department for investigations.
* Ensure department aligns to the company operating procedures.
* Ensure that stock takes are completed timeously.
* Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes to ensure inventory records match physical stock.
* Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Maintain accurate inventory records using systems like Syspro or Translution, ensuring real-time data updates.
* Implement inventory control measures such as FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) to optimize stock turnover
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of the inventory team, providing guidance and support.Conduct regular performance evaluations, identifying training needs and facilitating professional development.
* Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and adherence to company policies.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation for all inventory transactions, ensuring audit readiness.
* Present findings and recommendations to senior management to inform decision-making.
* Conduct training & toolbox talks to staff
* Ensure BINS are maintained and initiate bin consolidation
* Oversee all cycle counts done by the staff including investigation of variances they might have
* Ensure that counts are done and completed daily/weekly/fortnightly/monthly
* Ensure all offsite warehouses are counted as when needed
* Ensure all returns are processed and done timeously
* Oversee all processes as to counting, binning, returns processing
* Work closely with warehouse operations, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless inventory flow and address any stock-related issues.
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of the inventory team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing unit.
* Generate and analyse inventory reports, providing insights to management on stock levels, turnover rates, and potential areas for improvement.
* Drive Continues Improvements within department.
* Ensure that housekeeping is maintained on the warehouse floor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

* Experience: At least 2-5 years related experience within warehousing and distribution (Supply chain).
* Thorough knowledge and experience of all aspects of Inbound/ Outbound and Inventory Management.
* Proficiency with Syspro or WMS applications.
* Good communication skills both verbal and written.
* Able to work weekends and overtime.
* Able to work under pressure. Deadline orientated.
* Display initiative and lead by example.
* Have a thorough understanding of the quality condition within the company.

* Able to motivate staff to meet desired outcomes.

* Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally via e-mail, telephone, and 2-way devices.
* Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
* Ability to work in a team environment and interact with diverse people.
