About the Services
The Welsh Centre for Cleft Lip and Palate Psychology Service provides psychosocial services for people of all ages, especially birth to age 20, affected by cleft lip and palate. The post holder will support the Consultant Psychologist and the wider psychology team, working across Morriston and Cardiff clinics, with travel required between locations. Visits to patients in their homes or schools may also be necessary.
The Plastic Surgery Psychology service offers psychological support to children and their families in inpatient and outpatient settings. The Assistant Psychologist will support the Lead Clinical Psychologist for Paediatric Plastic Surgery and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team. The service is based at The Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastics, Morriston Hospital, with clinics also at Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
Principal Duties
* Collecting and inputting audit data from children, carers, and adults, maintaining databases, analyzing data, and contributing to research and training.
* Supporting clinical services for people with cleft lip and palate, including participating in multidisciplinary clinics and providing psychological interventions.
* Developing care pathways, group work initiatives, resources, and contributing to service development.
* Supporting the Paediatric Plastic Surgery Service by providing psychological support, developing resources and workshops, and undertaking audits.
* Working with staff groups and within multidisciplinary teams to deliver therapeutic interventions and liaising with other services and schools as appropriate.
