Job Summary
Part‑time Peer Support Worker within the Oxford Health Buckinghamshire Adult Mental Health Service, 22.5 hours per week. Role focuses on providing peer support using lived experience and recovery principles to empower service users.
Responsibilities
* Offer peer support to service users through one‑to‑one and group sessions, facilitating informal and formal learning.
* Use lived experience to provide empathy, hope and support, drawing on recovery principles within multidisciplinary teams.
* Support service users’ recovery journeys, encouraging independence, self‑awareness and self‑care.
* Collaborate with clinical staff to develop recovery‑based practice and ensure service users’ needs are front‑of‑mind.
* Travel independently within the Trust to deliver services at clinic, community and home settings.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Prior lived experience of mental health challenges with a willingness to share and support others.
* Proactive, compassionate, able to work well in a team, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Part‑time commitment of 22.5 hours per week, flexible pattern across up to three days.
* Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
* Discharge Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as required.

Location: Amersham Health Centre (satellite hub), HP6 5AY. Contract: Permanent. Part‑time. Band 3 with annual pay £25,760 to £27,476, pro‑rata.
