Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
My clients are a very well-established manufacturing company based in Tameside. They are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
Job Details:
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (8am - 5pm)
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum, starting at £19.23 per hour
Holidays: 28 days including public holidays, rising to 29 after completion of 1 year
Probation: 3-month probationary period
Pension: Auto-enrolled with company contributing 4% and employee contributing 3%
Benefits: Life Assurance x 1
Role Description:
As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will report directly to the Facilities Manager. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting electrical repairs and maintenance on various machinery including automated assembly, injection moulding machines, powder coating lines, conveyors, and hydraulic presses
2. Performing electrical installation work such as armoured cable installations, lighting, and power installations
3. Completing planned preventive maintenance activities and supporting new installations
You should have a proven track record in a similar role with strong electrical knowledge and some basic mechanical skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is creative, and can effectively communicate ideas.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To maintain all electrical equipment on site, carry out electrical installations, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Responsibilities also include assisting various departments with their electrical needs and proactively monitoring machinery conditions.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
* Conduct portable/fixed appliance testing and maintain records
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults
* Assist in training apprentices and other maintenance team members
* Ensure all work is done safely, meets standards, and complies with regulations
Requirements:
Essential: NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification, Apprentice Trained, Basic Mechanical experience
Desirable: Previous factory work experience, BS 7671 18th Edition, Electrical inspection and testing qualification, PAT Testing, IPAF
