We are recruiting for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of complex power generation, renewable energy and industrial infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is a technically challenging role working across:
1. Power generation
2. Grid integration
3. Battery energy storage (BESS)
4. Renewable energy
5. Energy from waste
6. Industrial energy systems
You will play a key role across full project lifecycles — from feasibility and design through to commissioning and operational optimisation — within an engineering-led environment delivering real UK infrastructure.
The Role
Electrical Design & Engineering
7. Lead design and specification of electrical systems
8. Produce and review SLDs, protection philosophies, equipment specifications
9. Ensure compliance with IEC, ENA, BS and UK grid standards
Grid Integration & Power Systems
10. Support grid connection strategies
11. Interface with DNOs, utilities and network operators
12. Provide technical input into power system studies
Feasibility & Technical Due Diligence
13. Conduct early-stage engineering assessments
14. Identify technical risk and viability
15. Support cost modelling and investment decisions
Project Lifecycle Delivery
16. Act as Electrical Engineering Lead from concept to commissioning
17. Provide installation oversight and commissioning support
18. Ensure systems are delivered to design intent
Modelling & Performance Optimisation
19. Use engineering software (AutoCAD, MATLAB or similar)
20. Support system modelling, stability assessment and optimisation
Control & Process Integration
21. Work alongside SCADA and control engineers
22. Support electrical integration within process plant environments
Technical Troubleshooting
23. Root cause analysis and fault finding
24. Site-based technical support when required
Stakeholder Engagement
25. Interface with contractors, regulators and technology vendors
26. Represent the business in technical meetings

About You
You will likely have:
35. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
36. Chartered status (or working toward)
37. Experience delivering power generation or infrastructure projects
38. Strong knowledge of grid integration and power systems
39. Understanding of IEC, ENA, BS standards
40. Experience in renewable energy, BESS, energy from waste or process plant (desirable)
41. Exposure to SCADA or industrial control environments
42. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
43. Ability to manage multiple technical workstreams
44. Willingness to travel across UK project sites
