The Role
Salary: £35,100—£38,000 inclusive of bonus.
Location: Portsmouth
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 45 hours, 5 days out of 7 on a rota – weekend working required.
As a Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician you’ll play a key role in ensuring our vehicles are mechanically prepared and ready for handover, helping us to achieve our vision of being the car buyers champion.
Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards
* Inspect vehicles and diagnose faults to meet Motorpoint’s quality benchmarks
* Follow the PDI process, including conducting road tests, to ensure readiness for handover
* Complete documentation accurately and support vehicle movements as needed
* Maintain a clean, safe workspace and collaborate with colleagues across departments
* Champion health and safety and contribute to a positive team culture
* Carry out any other ad‑hoc tasks as required
Requirements
* A full UK driving licence is essential
* A minimum Level 2 motor trade qualification
* EV qualification is desirable
* Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues during inspections
* Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* A team player who can also work independently
* Motivation to meet performance goals and uphold quality standards
* Organised and efficient in managing workload and priorities
* Commitment to safety and maintaining a tidy workspace
* Willingness to support other sites when needed
