Responsibilities
As the local, on‑property sales contact for customers, the Sales Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting and managing new and existing opportunities. The primary intent is to drive sales for the hotel in defined business segments of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events. Works as part of the Sales & Marketing team to achieve personal and team related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery. Responsible for driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.

Sales and Marketing
* Focuses on building top line revenue by executing against the sales strategy
* Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and the hotel needs
* Proactively identifies, qualifies, and solicits new group/catering business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals
* Grows accounts managed within portfolio to exceed pre‑defined individual goals and contribute to team goals
* Maintains and grows business of existing accounts based on targets set
* Communicates group details throughout hotel after opportunities are booked
* Identifies and develops new markets/segments from accounts managed
* Attends relevant national and international trade conferences to represent hotel and win new business
* Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
* Assumes leadership role, as requested by Director of Sales & Marketing, on ad hoc special projects, including developing processes to identify potential new accounts
* Maintains accurate and up to date account data and reporting using account management system
* Assists with new hire orientation and appropriate new hire training to ensure associates can successfully perform their job
* Conducts site inspections
* Creates contracts as required
Customer Service
* Establishes clear expectations for customers throughout the sales process. Transfers accurate, complete, and timely information to operating departments
* Ensures sales information provided to the event team is accurate, complete, and timely and enables them to meet or exceed guest expectations
* Continuously focuses on improving guest satisfaction to create customer loyalty and increase market share
* Displays leadership in guest hospitality; exemplifies customer service and creates a positive example for guest relations
* Effectively resolves guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process
* Brings issues to the attention of property leadership team as appropriate
* Participates in guest satisfaction review sessions to identify areas of improvement
* Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels; effectively responds to and handles guests’ problems and complaints
* Takes ownership of results and shares recommendations to address guest service issues

Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Preferred Education and Experience
HND qualification or higher (preferred)
Minimum 1-year proactive sales experience within a Hospitality or Travel Management setting.
