Do you have experience of using GIS and a passion for the natural environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Woodland Creation team within Greenwood Community Forest. As part of the Trees for Climate programme, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of Nottinghamshire’s landscapes by supporting the design, delivery and evaluation of woodland creation projects.

Responsibilities
* Map existing woodlands, identify strategic planting opportunities, and produce high‑quality plans for consultation and regulatory approval.
* Evaluate the impact of woodland creation programmes through spatial analysis.
* Work closely with colleagues to share knowledge and build GIS capacity across the team.
* Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs and other public sector organisations.
* Support a growing team through training and mentoring.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience using GIS software for environmental applications.
* Strong technical expertise and environmental insight.
* Experience managing spatial data and producing spatial analysis.
Secondment and Work Options
This post is also available as a secondment opportunity to existing Nottinghamshire County Council employees. You must seek approval from your line manager before applying. The post is offered for 18 months initially, with potential for extension subject to further funding for the woodland creation programme.
