We are looking to recruit a Rugby Forward Specialist Coach to join our dynamic rugby programme.
Hours
Monday to Thursday 2-4pm during the Michaelmas term time.
Additional rugby specific clinics for two hours a week.
Commitment to pre-season training and sports tours during school holidays, up to 7 days.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Director of Rugby to advance the rugby programme.
* Deliver high-quality coaching for the under-18s senior XV, coordinating with both internal and external coaches.
* Lead as the forwards coach.
* Provide coaching during all games and activity sessions.
* Manage the Elite Rugby Programme, including:
* Individual and small group technical coaching sessions.
* Coordination with Strength and Conditioning Coaches.
* Assist with other tasks as required by the Director of Sport or Headmaster to ensure smooth school operations.
* Supervision of pupils ensuring an active and motivational session
* An awareness of health and safety
Required Skills/ Essential Criteria
* Experience coaching forward and the set piece.
* Understanding of the role of sport and activities in individual development.
* Proven ability to motivate and encourage participation.
* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently with a proactive, flexible, and positive approach.
* Proficiency in IT software, including Word and Excel.
* Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
* Understanding of school sporting commitments.
* An understanding and commitment to safeguarding protocols within a school environment.
* Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to contribute to coaching in one or more major sports.
Desirable Criteria
* Played or coached at an elite level.
* Ability to use video analysis software.
* UKCC Level 3: RFU Advanced Coaching Award Desirable.
