What is the role? The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the financial management of sites within the region through effective and efficient controls, producing reports to allow senior management to establish site status. What you'll do as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
Be responsible for up to 4 or 5 sites of varying complexity, setting up budgets, producing bi-monthly valuations, appointing subcontractors, and making subcontractor payments to maintain close cost control and enable management decisions. Ensure weekly and monthly payments are processed efficiently, resolve any disputed items, and provide an accurate picture of site financial status. Produce site valuations bi-monthly and present to the Board of Directors to highlight any variations from budgeted figures. Negotiate to obtain the best rates for sub-contract appointments to maximize margins. Utilize the Persimmon Group COINS system to set up new sites, establish budgets, and predict site profitability for financial planning. Liaise with other departments (Construction, Sales, Customer Care, Accounts) to ensure efficient site operations. Comply with the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy and promote safety throughout the team. When deputising for the Manager, allocate tasks to the team, verifying quality to ensure standards are maintained. Mentor and train junior team members, developing their skills to take on more responsibility and improve regional productivity. Assist the Manager with key business decisions and participate in regional meetings as a subject expert.
