A vacancy had arisen for a Care Assistant to join our night team to cover maternity leave 30 hours per week 9pm til 7am .
After this time there will be a potential for you to remain as part of our team, possibly in another sector of the home. You are to provide person centred care to our residents throughout the night in our busy home, which supports the elderly with a variety of needs including Dementia care. It involves all aspects of personal care, and support with nutritional, mobility and emotional needs. The successful applicant will be required to carry out regular checks throughout the night and answer pagers and pendents in a timely manner, and to know when to contact outside agencies such as medical advice and emergency. You will need to be confident to receive and conduct handover to and from day shift and report any changes to health and well being on each resident in our care.
To carry out cleaning of communal area's each shift and having due regard to food hygiene and health and safety legislation following all guidelines including any kitchen training. You will also participate in any training that is offered and complete any mandatory training in the time scale set out. Medication training will be given and you will be responsible for administering medication (once trained) during the night ensuring it is signed for and appropriate paperwork is completed.
You will also be required to take part and be available as part of our on-call system that responds and reacts to emergencies and sickness issues that may arise.
The role is on a weekend on weekend off basis but you may be required to cover holiday from time to time. A DBS check will be required for this role £76 which will be returned after working for one year with the company.
