The opportunity
Due to growth and launch activities, we are seeking a Senior Director in the IBU Regional team to ensure a successful launch for Lilly’s developmental assets in Diabetes and Cardiovascular diseases across the region.
We are looking for you to be an integral member of the Lilly Diabetes IBU Medical team, being front and centre in the strategic planning in the support of launch and commercialisation activities to meet patients’ needs and ultimately enhance the customers’ experience in interacting with the company.
Responsibilities:
1. To provide medical expertise in Diabetes, Cardiovascular diseases and other Metabolic disorders across the Lilly Diabetes portfolio.
2. To lead Diabetes and CV related clinical research activities related to the Incretin portfolio in Metabolic disorders across IBU regions.
3. To develop effective partnerships with relevant functions within Lilly.
4. To develop effective partnerships with clinicians, other key influencers and external groups and relevant medical societies.
5. To engage and lead in the Global with Local launch related processes in Diabetes and CV diseases.
6. To lead Medical Education activities which may include business planning and approval of relevant materials.
7. Understand and anticipate the scientific information needs of all local/regional customers (payers, patients, health care providers).
8. Lead the development of medical strategies to support brand commercialisation activities.
9. Offer scientific input, contribute to the development, review and approval of promotional materials for the brand team.
10. Support internal and external training activities related to Lilly’s assets.
Provision of Medical Expertise
11. Ensure detailed, up-to-date knowledge of the data surrounding the respective Molecule(s)
12. Input into regulatory submissions and Health Technology Assessments (HTAs)
13. Assist Medical Information and Global Product Safety as requested, including out of hour
14. Input and leadership in developing the Regulatory strategy for portfolio in conjunction with the Global teams. Input into planning for Regulatory submissions in IBU region for the Incretin portfolio.
15. Drive and take accountability for the process and content of scientific publications
16. Provide initial and ongoing disease, product and competitor training for all Lilly colleagues relevant to product launches.
Clinical Planning/Clinical Research/Trial Execution and Support
17. Input into the development of Global and Regional relevant CT plans
18. Implement, in consultation with the Clinical Operations lead, the Global / Regional CT plan with Quality Speed and Value
19. Development of IBU regional clinical trials strategy for the relevant Diabetes and CV assets.
20. Support for Investigator Initiated Trial process across the IBU region.
External Relations
21. Identify and engage with Health Care Professionals (HCPs), Advocacy Groups, government and other professional bodies as determined by business needs.
22. Share and involve relevant HCPs in new developments / data surrounding the product
23. Drive appropriate involvement of relevant HCPs with publications and product communications
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements: Education and Experience
24. Basic Medical Qualification (MBBS/MD)
25. Deep therapeutic area clinical expertise within Cardiovascular diseases and other related Metabolic diseases.
26. Evidence of strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
27. Evidence of few years’ experience in relevant drug development and medical affairs activities in the Pharmaceutical industry or published academic research background in Diabetes, CV and Metabolic disorders.
28. Being able to demonstrate extensive track record of key contributions to scientific knowledge in the field of Metabolic disorders.
29. Deep understanding and working relationships with key International Opinion Leaders and professional organisations.
30. Excellent communication skills (presentation, written and verbal)
31. Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, prioritise and adapt to changing organisational needs.
32. Awareness of the role of medical doctors in a commercial setting.
33. Ability to engage in domestic and international travel to the degree appropriate to support the business of the team.
34. Fluent in English, verbal and written communication.
