Use data to tell the real story of how education programmes change lives.
At Etio, we help governments and institutions improve education systems - not software systems. Our work is about people, schools, and communities. We deliver large-scale, Department for Education (DfE) funded programmes that improve teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
This role is part of two of our flagship people-focused education initiatives:
* Attendance Mentors Programme (AMP) - supporting schools to tackle persistent absence and improve student engagement.
* National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) - strengthening maths teaching nationwide through professional development and school improvement.
About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Programme Data Analyst who understands that when we say “programme” we mean education intervention - a coordinated service delivered by people, for people.
You’ll gather, validate, and analyse data that shows whether these initiatives are working - and turn that data into clear, compelling stories for the DfE, school leaders, and programme partners. You’ll know the difference between attendance data and attainment data, and why the way we present it can influence policy and funding.
You will:
* Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and Excel reports that reflect education KPIs
* Translate complex data into narratives that make sense to school leaders, teachers, and policy makers
* Validate and clean datasets from multiple sources (e.g. schools, local authorities, delivery partners)
* Track attendance, engagement, attainment, and teaching quality metrics
* Present insights to DfE, local authorities, and education leaders
* Support programme teams to use data effectively in planning and decision-making
* Champion a “single source of truth” for programme reporting
What You’ll Bring
* Strong experience working with education data (attendance, attainment, pupil engagement, school improvement)
* Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX and data modelling
* High proficiency in Excel (PowerPivot, automation, complex formulas)
* SQL skills for extracting and combining datasets
* Ability to explain complex findings simply to non-technical audiences
* Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders, including government and education leaders
* Understanding of how data informs education policy, funding, and evaluation
Desirable
* Experience on DfE-funded education programmes
* Familiarity with DfE reporting frameworks and logic models
* Knowledge of survey tools such as Qualtrics or SharePoint Lists
* Background in programme evaluation or impact measurement in education
Who We Are
* Etio is a mission-driven organisation providing expertise to improve education systems and outcomes.
* NCETM leads the national Maths Hubs Network, helping every teacher of maths access high-quality professional development.
* AMP works with schools to improve attendance, engagement, and attainment through targeted mentoring and data-driven support.
Benefits
We know our people are our greatest strength. That’s why we offer a flexible, supportive culture and benefits that let you do your best work - and take care of your wellbeing too.
* 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (option to buy more)
* Flexible working culture
* Private Medical Insurance & Healthcare Cash Plan
* Enhanced family-friendly policies
* “Work from anywhere” globally (up to 8 weeks)
