Job Description
Our client, a distinguished consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Planner with significant experience in rail projects to join their team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work on a major rail infrastructure programme delivered from Leeds.
Responsibilities:
* Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules
* Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines
* Conducting periodic programme reviews and schedule maintenance
* Integrating risk management strategies into project plans
* Generating and presenting project reports to stakeholders
* Ensuring the project adheres to all contractual requirements and goals
* Using software planning tools to create and manage project schedules
* Supporting the integration of multiple contractor submissions into the overall schedule
Job Requirements:
* Experience in major rail projects
* Knowledge of NEC4 schedule contractual requirements
* Proficiency in using basic and advanced IT systems
* Understanding of project/programme planning and scheduling tools, including P6
* Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels
* Ability to assess planning requirements and make pragmatic decisions
* Strong team leadership and motivational skills
* Experience working with engineering, construction, and access disciplines
* Graduate level with strategic thinking capabilities
Desirable Skills:
* Excellent presentation skills
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Proficiency in Visio for visualising schedules
* Knowledge of Power BI
