Pay: £15.00 – £18.00 per hour + performance bonuses
Are you an experienced barista who loves great coffee but feels stuck as a small cog in a big machine? Would you rather run your own show, meet great people, and serve exceptional coffee from a beautifully designed, solar-powered van?
The Role
As a Mobile Coffee Van Operator & Brand Ambassador, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day running of one of our coffee vans. You’ll deliver outstanding coffee, memorable customer experiences, and help grow our clients business at events and locations.
You’ll be trusted to work independently, think proactively, and treat the van as if it were your own.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle & Operations
1. Safely drive, park, and set up the mobile coffee van at events and locations
2. Complete daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, tyres, cleanliness)
3. Operate, clean, and maintain coffee machines and equipment
Stock & Inventory Management
4. Monitor and manage stock levels (coffee, milk, cups, supplies)
5. Carry out regular stock checks and report shortages
6. Coordinate or place supplier orders when required
Customer Service
7. Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and drinks with precision and care
8. Deliver a warm, friendly, and engaging customer experience
9. Handle cash and card payments accurately
Brand Promotion & Growth
10. Act as a brand ambassador for Kings of the Road Coffee
11. Share our story, values, and passion for coffee with customers
12. Identify and suggest new events, venues, or opportunities
13. Support social media promotion (optional, depending on experience)
Compliance & Cleanliness
14. Maintain excellent hygiene and cleanliness standards
15. Follow all food safety, health & safety, and licensing regulations
16. Ensure correct waste disposal and recycling practices
Requirements
Essential
17. Full UK driving licence (clean preferred)
18. Experience in hospitality, barista work, catering, or mobile food & beverage
19. Confident driving and operating a commercial vehicle
20. Strong customer service and communication skills
21. Ability to work independently and take initiative
22. Excellent organisation and attention to detail
Desirable
23. Barista training or strong coffee knowledge
24. Basic vehicle maintenance awareness
25. Experience with events, pop-ups, or mobile catering
26. Social media or brand promotion experience
27. Familiarity with Square EPOS

30. Confident representing a brand face-to-face
31. Flexible with working hours (early starts, weekends, events)
