Role: Automation & Robotics Installations Engineer
Location: Leicestershire (Field-based with weekly UK-wide travel)
Salary: Dependant on Experience
We are partnering with a fast-growing automation solutions provider with great ambition. As part of their ambitious growth plans, they are now seeking a hands‑on Automation & Robotics Installations Engineer to support solution delivery from concept to commissioning.
About the Role:
As an Automation & Robotics Installations Engineer, you will play a vital role in the full project lifecycle, from initial client engagement through design, build, programming, testing, installation, and commissioning. Working directly with customers across the UK, this field‑based position is ideal for an engineer who thrives on variety, autonomy, and direct impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support sales team through client site visits and on‑site demos
* Conduct feasibility assessments and develop automation solutions
* Design mechanical, electrical, and control systems in collaboration with internal teams
* Assemble, configure, and build systems aligned with specifications
* Own PLC programming (primarily Siemens), including development, testing, and fault‑finding
* Install, commission, and hand over solutions at client sites, including training and documentation
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in automation, robotics, or a similar engineering role
* Knowledge of PLCs (preferably Siemens)
* Experience of electronic installations
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
* Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, agile team
* Experience with AGVs, AMRs, or industrial automation systems
* Background in lean manufacturing or process improvement
