The post holder will be responsible for the project management of clinical research trials, working closely with the the research project delivery team to deliver an array of studies across multiple specialties, on and off site including Dorset County Hospital and Weymouth Research Hub. This will require the deployment of administrative, analytical and interpersonal skills, management of study finances, occasional processing of participant samples and effective communication at all levels of the organisations involved. Experience in project management is essential.
Please note that this position is a fixed term rolling 12 month contract, with the expectation that income will supplement continuation of the role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the project management of clinical research trials, working closely with the the research project delivery team to deliver an array of studies across multiple specialties, on and off site.
This will require the deployment of administrative, analytical and interpersonal skills, management of study finances, occasional processing of participant samples and effective communication at all levels of the organisations involved.
* Planning and co-ordinating approval processes required for implementing new trials in liaison with Research Delivery Business Manager and R&D.
* Co-ordinate and manage relationships with all stakeholders involved in research projects
* Facilitate all non-clinical aspects of a clinical trial from set up to completion
* Support with patient screening, acquisition of trial data, management, submission and related administration including the management of study level finances.
* Facilitating supply of office and trial consumables.
* Assists in preparation and appropriate processing of patient samples as per protocol, in laboratory setting.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
* Good Standard of education to minimum of 4 GCSEs
* Diploma level training or equivalent experience in project management or associated subjects.
* European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent evidence of IT skills
Desirable criteria
* GCP (Good Clinical Practice) certificate and training
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
* Experience in data management and/or administration, demonstrating a need for accuracy & thoroughness.
* Current experience in Microsoft Office software (e.g. excel, word)
* Experience in supporting, planning, implementing or delivering projects
Desirable criteria
* Current Knowledge and Understanding of Medical Terminology.
* Experience in NHS IT / patient data management systems.
* Knowledge & experience in delivering the trust values of Integrity, Respect, Teamwork & Excellence
