Due to strategic development of attendance systems, the school is seeking an experienced and proactive Attendance Officer.
Role Overview
The Attendance Officer will lead the monitoring and improvement of whole-school attendance, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and early intervention for vulnerable students.
Key responsibilities include:
* Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality
* Producing attendance reports for SLT
* Contacting parents regarding absences
* Identifying patterns of persistent absence
* Coordinating attendance panels and meetings
* Liaising with Heads of Year and safeguarding teams
* Working with external agencies where required
* Maintaining accurate MIS records
* Supporting reintegration after prolonged absence
* Ensuring compliance with DfE attendance regulations
The role requires strong communication skills, resilience, and the ability to manage sensitive conversations professionally.
Attendance & Pastoral Team
The Attendance Officer works closely with pastoral leaders, safeguarding staff, and the Data Manager. Systems are robust, and regular review meetings ensure strategic oversight.
