Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your career in Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy? We have a vacancy for a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly, dedicated community teams; helping to ensure that our children and young people in East Sussex get the start in life that they deserve. We have three clinical bases, but you will be expected to travel within East Sussex to meet the needs of the caseload.
You’ll be joining a service which is directly integrated with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, working in clinics, schools, nurseries and family homes. We are devoted to supporting children through holistic care. The work is varied, interesting, and very fulfilling.
Responsibilities
* Lead the team and support other team members to understand and plan their workload, whilst holding a clinical caseload yourself.
* Offer direct work with children and young people and support schools through our targeted and universal offer.
* Develop and apply knowledge of AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) and be willing to develop this further; there is also the opportunity to undertake dysphagia training.
* Travel within East Sussex to meet the needs of the caseload; based in our Integrated Care Team serving children and young people with complex needs across East Sussex.
* Collaborate with local special schools and identify training gaps and new ways of working within the schools.
* Participate in induction, regular line manager meetings, clinical supervision and appraisals; engage in service improvement groups and evidence‑based practice; develop clinical skills for a varied paediatric caseload.
Qualifications and requirements
* Band 7 level with leadership responsibilities in paediatric speech and language therapy.
* Knowledge of AAC and willingness to develop further; dysphagia training available.
* Car owner essential, subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act (1995).
* Flexible working arrangements and a range of hours to support work‑life balance.
* Full UK driving licence may be required where driving is a role requirement.
