Welsh-Speaking 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-time
Start Date: February 2026
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Welsh-speaking 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a friendly and inclusive school in Pontypridd.
The Role
* Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs (ALN)
* Support learning, communication, and emotional wellbeing through the medium of Welsh
* Work closely with the class teacher, ALNCo, and support staff
* Follow and contribute to individual support plans
* Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* The ability to communicate confidently in Welish (essential)
* Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 or ALN support role
* A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach
* Good teamwork and communication skills
* An understanding of ALN such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, xxuwjjq or speech and language needs (desirable but not essential)
