The Role of a Maintenance Operative
The maintenance operative is responsible for domestic repairs & maintenance of the premises, minor projects within the site complex, and all compliance needed for the site’s operation.
* Ensure all parts of the environment are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic, in good repair, and sensitive to the needs of the students.
* Maintain high standards of record keeping and reporting related to the site.
* Participate in and undertake regular audits of quality systems.
* Inspect and address works from contractors that fall below required standards.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant national regulations and inspection standards.
* Manage your workload proactively and effectively.
* Liaise with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects and seek technical assistance from the Facilities Manager.
* Identify projects that will improve the facility's image, functionality, or operational efficiency.
* Ensure projects are completed on time and that contractor areas are left in good condition.
* Maintain the grounds of the facility.
What you will bring
* Building and maintenance knowledge.
* Experience with compliance and record keeping.
* A trade background is preferred but not essential.
Requirements for an enhanced DBS check and references will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment practices. Online searches of shortlisted candidates will be conducted as part of safeguarding checks to assess suitability to work with children.
