Food Technology Teacher – Southampton Area
Start Date: ASAP Contract: Until at least Easter 2026, with the possibility of continuing to July 2026 Pay: £160 – £250 per day (dependent on experience) Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-Time Location: Southampton (near Romsey)
Position Overview
Supply Desk is delighted to be supporting a well‑established and high‑performing secondary school in the Southampton area to recruit a passionate Food Technology Teacher. This full‑time role begins as soon as possible and will run through to at least Easter, with strong potential to continue until July 2026.
You’ll be joining a forward‑thinking Design & Technology department that values creativity, practical learning, and high‑quality teaching. The position is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners who are enthusiastic about inspiring young people through Food Technology.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Support students in developing essential cooking, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle skills.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic standards.

What We’re Looking For
A degree in Food Technology, Design & Technology, or a related subject (essential).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred).
Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4.
Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
A positive, engaging teaching style and genuine passion for the subject.
