Band 5 Scrub Nurse – Perioperative Nursing Care
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure perioperative patients receive high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate holistic and individualized care that respects each patient’s dignity, values, and beliefs.
* Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors in line with health and safety standards.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, families, and visitors to support safe and compassionate care.
* Serve as a clinical and professional role model, demonstrating specialist knowledge and consistently high standards of practice.
* Provide support and guidance to students and newly qualified staff, acting as a mentor, educator, and assessor to promote evidence-based practice.
* Assist in managing the theatre budget, including maintaining appropriate stock levels and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
* Maintain a professional portfolio and take responsibility for ongoing personal and professional development in line with the NMC Code, hospital policies, and procedures.
