Job Title:
3D Environment Artist for VR: 1950s Historical Interior (School Corridor, Staircase & Classroom)

Job Description:
Project Overview:
We are looking for a skilled 3D Modeler/Environment Artist to recreate a 1950s Lithuanian (Eastern European country) school interior for a VR project. The environment consists of three connected areas: a long corridor, a staircase, and a classroom. Since this will be used for 360-degree VR filming (six-camera setup), the model must be high-quality and look impeccable from all angles.

Project files:

Scope of Work:

Corridor: A long, simple hallway with period-appropriate doors, radiators, windows, and lighting.

Staircase: Concrete/terrazzo steps, wooden railings, and large windows. Needs to be recreated exactly as per reference photos (excluding modern elements like plastic windows).

Classroom: Period-accurate wooden desks, chairs, teacher's desk, and a blackboard.

Technical Requirements:

Software: Blender (preferred) or 3ds Max.

LOD (Level of Detail): High detail and 8K/4K textures for areas close to the camera; lower resolution for distant areas.

Format: FBX + all textures (PBR-ready). Must include the source file (Blender/3ds Max) with an organized hierarchy.

VR Optimization: 360-degree visibility. Surfaces close to the camera must have bevelled edges (no perfectly sharp corners) and physical surface irregularities (noise/bumps).

UV Mapping: Proper, non-overlapping UV unwrapping is a must.

Key Aesthetic Guidelines:

Historical Accuracy: The interior must reflect the architectural logic of mid-20th-century Lithuania.

Authentic Aging: Subtle wear and tear is required to avoid a "freshly renovated" look, but without overdoing it (no "abandoned" look).

Materials: Plastered walls, wooden/parquet floors, wooden baseboards, and gypsum cornices.

Lighting: You should be able to set up a basic preview lighting (PBR).

What We Provide:

Reference PDF: Detailed objective, scope, and visual examples.

Technical Memo: Specific instructions regarding door pivots, wall irregularities, and specific objects to include/exclude.

Reference Model: A 3ds Max file for overall dimensions and object placement.

Textures: Specific flag textures and wall irregularity maps.

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience in high-quality environment modeling (portfolio required).

Understanding of VR technical constraints (LOD, 360 viewing).

Attention to detail (bevelling, PBR textures, historical nuances).

Ability to communicate and align on object appropriateness before starting.

Contract duration of less than 1 month.

Mandatory skills: 3D Modeling, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk 3ds Max, 3D Design, 3D Rendering, Interior Design, Architectural Design, Unreal Engine, 3D Architectural Visualization, 3D Texturing
