Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Project Manager to lead and oversee data-driven projects within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management methodologies, including SAFe and Waterfall, and will be adept at utilising various project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of managing complex projects through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Duties
* Lead data projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and stakeholder expectations.
* Gather requirements effectively to define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
* Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
* Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that the final product meets business requirements.
* Manage project resources, including team members and external vendors, ensuring effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
* Utilise project management software to track progress and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to communicate project status, address issues, and negotiate changes as necessary.
* Oversee release management processes to ensure smooth deployment of data solutions.
* Implement best practices in test-driven development and disaster recovery planning for data integrity and security.
Skills
* Proficient in project management methodologies such as SAFe, Waterfall, Kanban, and Agile principles.
* Strong knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
* Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS for scalable solutions.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio) for documentation and reporting purposes.
* Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong analytical skills to assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies effectively.
* Proven leadership abilities to inspire teams towards achieving project goals while fostering a collaborative environment.
* Effective communication skills for engaging with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience with programme management principles to align multiple projects under a unified strategy.
