We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Corporate Team in Norwich. This friendly team are looking for a Paralegal to provide support with a variety of tasks and duties. The role also offers the potential for firm‑supported study towards the SQE, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while progressing towards qualification as a solicitor.
Responsibilities
* Researching legal issues on behalf of other fee earners
* Preparing letters, agreements and document bundles for fee earners as required
* Carrying out due diligence such as drafting questionnaires, checking Companies House records for any discrepancies and data room creation and management
* Following the process through to completion such as preparing completion statements, bankruptcy/insolvency searches, preparing payment forms for both the client and the seller's solicitors and creating DocuSign envelopes
* Liaising with both HMRC and clients re stamp duty
* Carrying out Client ID verification such as smartsearch
* Preparing regular WIP updates for clients
* Efficient management of client/matter files to include general filing, file opening, preparation of client care letters and terms and conditions, file closure and archiving
* Liaising with clients via telephone and email including verifying their bank details
* Researching potential clients and preparing structure charts
* Attending client meetings both in person and on the telephone, as requested by the fee earner
* Attending meetings and taking notes as required
* Carrying out Business Development tasks such as attending events and booking hotels, trains etc for the team
* Administrative tasks such as keeping documents updated, preparing bills and sending these to clients, maintaining all the team's diaries, processing expenses and mileage claims on behalf of the team
* Undertaking any other duties as required
