Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and ready to build a career in project cost management? We’re looking for a Project Controls Assistant to support our cost management team on a range of exciting engineering and infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career, whether you're a recent graduate, apprentice, or transitioning into project controls, to gain hands-on experience in cost estimation, financial analysis, and budget tracking.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Assisting with cost estimation and budget development for engineering and construction projects
* Supporting the tracking of project budgets, expenses, and financial performance
* Preparing cost summaries, variance reports, and dashboards for internal stakeholders
* Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to gather data and ensure financial alignment
* Helping review contractor bids and contracts to support compliance and cost control
* Using tools like Microsoft Excel and Power BI to manage and present financial data
What We’re Looking For
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus
* Analytical mindset with a passion for working with data and numbers
* Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
* Previous experience in cost management, finance, or project support is beneficial but not essential
Ideal for Candidates Who Are
* On an apprenticeship or graduate pathway in quantity surveying, finance, engineering, or analytics
* Working towards a relevant qualification such as RICS, ECITB Level 6 Diploma, or similar
* Interested in developing a career in project controls, cost management, or commercial roles
