Working in a busy and fast paced environment as the People Apprentice you will be predominately supporting our People Team with daily duties. You will be a pivotal member of the team with an excellent attention to detail, conscientious about confidentiality and have effective communication skills at all levels. Our expectation is that the People Apprentice will undertake and pass an accredited Level 3 HR Support learning programme. The length of this apprenticeship programme should typically be 18 - 24 months. We invite applications from candidates who have a keen interest in developing a career in Human Resources. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with all stages of the employment life cycle, including maintaining databases, generating documentation, e-filing and supporting routine monthly processing activities. Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day People Team queries, escalating where appropriate. Provide support with job offers, applying for references, checking of right to work/qualification documentation. Process DBS checks and reference requests where required. Administer the new starter and leaver process, including supporting onboarding activity, exit interviews, and company communications. Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate payroll and benefit administration Ensure that the People Team portal pages are engaging and kept up to date Identify opportunities for improvements to administrative processes and practices to improve the People Experience Participate in ad-hoc People Functional activities and projects (including supporting Talent Acquisition, Internal Communications, People Development (where required) Perform other duties as required About You Skills and Attributes: Engaging and professional manner as well as being an effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbally Experience of using Human Resources information systems would be highly desirable Digital confidence with strong computer literacy skills using Microsoft e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word Strong attention to detail and works well to deadlines. A service led and proactive approach, with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills A strong interest in Human Resources / People Team functions Experience and Education: English and maths GCSEs at a minimum of grade 4 (C) or equivalent Experience of working in a people centric or customer service role is desirable.
