Job Title: Regulatory Toxicologist (Managing Scientist level)
Location: Based in the EU and UK, with options for UK offices (Harrogate, Nottingham, Edinburgh, London), Dublin (Ireland), Mannheim (Germany), Basel (Switzerland), or remote work.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality technical, scientific, and regulatory advice, including formulation of regulatory toxicology strategies.
2. Lead within science areas of toxicology.
3. Plan and execute toxicology programs, including study design and monitoring.
4. Manage projects and produce documents to support registrations in Europe and other countries.
5. Train and develop junior members of the toxicology team.
6. Manage junior staff.
7. Build and develop successful client relationships.
8. Market expertise and identify new business opportunities for Exponent.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. BSc in chemistry, biology, or related field; preferably with a higher degree or professional qualification in toxicology.
2. Knowledge of European regulatory frameworks concerning plant protection products, industrial chemicals, food, or consumer products.
3. Experience with guidance documents related to endocrine disruptors, groundwater, impurities, dermal absorption, particularly regarding European pesticides regulation.
4. Proven data interpretation and problem-solving skills in a relevant industry.
5. Authority in areas such as reproductive and developmental toxicity, endocrinology, carcinogenicity, or genotoxicity.
6. Awareness of evolving regulatory policies in Europe.
7. Familiarity with OECD test guidelines, GLP principles, study placement, and monitoring.
8. Experience with hazard classification under CLP.
9. Experience preparing submission dossiers for Europe and JMPR.
10. Experience working within regulatory frameworks outside Europe.
11. Networking skills with external experts, business managers, and industry or inter-agency groups.
12. Experience working in multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed teams.
