Our client is seeking an experienced Chambers Welder to join their specialist manufacturing team. This role involves the fabrication and welding of vacuum chambers, components, and sub-assemblies within a high precision engineering environment. Job type: Full-time Location: Hailsham Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Key Responsibilities: Carry out TIG welding and fabrication of vacuum chambers, components, and sub-assemblies Ensure all work is completed to specification, quality standards, and planned timeframes Align welding and fabrication activities with machine shop and production schedules Conduct quality control checks throughout fabrication processes Operate and support helium leak detection and testing (mass spectrometry equipment) Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and 5S compliance within the working environment Prioritise workload effectively to meet production targets and deadlines Follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Skills, Experience, and Requirements: Minimum 3 years’ TIG welding experience Strong ability to manage workload and meet production targets Experience working to technical drawings and specifications Strong understanding of fabrication and welding processes Ability to work accurately under time constraints Strong awareness of health & safety and disciplined working practices Experience working with stainless steel and Mu-metal Background in vacuum industry or high-precision engineering environment Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing (BTech/HNC/HND) Basic knowledge of turning or machining processes Experience using precision measuring equipment Our Ideal Candidate: Skilled and detail-focused with a high standard of workmanship Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities Strong team player with good communication skills Problem-solver with a proactive approach to work Committed to maintaining quality, safety, and continuous improvement Reliable and able to meet tight deadlines If you know someone suitable for this role, share the word and through our referral scheme receive up to £250!
