Are you looking to develop your skills and progress in your career?If you're looking for a stable role within a supportive and inclusive working environment, read on to find out more!We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our amazing team at our Tarmac Halecombe Quarry and Asphalt Plant, Frome, Somerset.As well as Frome, this role is easily accessible from Nunney, Shepton Mallet, Warminster, Trowbridge, Bath, Midsomer Norton, Gillingham, Glastonbury and surrounding areas.Main ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Section Manager, the duties of the Multi Skilled Operative are part of a key team of Operatives producing dry aggregates material for the construction industry, as well as delivering best-in-class Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance for our Plant operations.Your role as a Multi Skilled Operative will include:Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveriesOperation of mobile PlantAssisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targetsEnsuring Plant conforms with safety requirements at all timesHealth, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilitiesFollowing Health, Safety and Environmental policies and proceduresCarrying out inspections on the Plant, acting on defects and implementing remedial actionAssisting in the maintenance regime of the PlantEnsuring that Plant availability is maximisedMaintaining high standards of housekeeping around the siteThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer, along with good communication skills and a real desire to develop both operative and supervisory skills.To succeed in this role we would expect a candidate to evidence:Knowledge of Plant and ideally previous experience in quarry or mobile Plant operationsShovel licence – desirableFlexibility and the ability to work as part of an effective Multi-Skilled Operative teamSelf-motivation and the ability to motivate colleaguesGood timekeeping, with flexibility to meet unit requirementsGood communication skills, raising issues with Line Management where neededFull UK driving licenceIT literacyPrevious experience as a Multi Skilled Operative working in an Asphalt Plant would be highly beneficial; however, this is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.Why TarmacAt Tarmac, 'who you are' matters.
