To ensure all appropriate analysis is carried out relating to the Real Estate client portfolios for the UK and international markets. This includes ongoing portfolio analysis and reporting alongside specific asset analysis particularly pertaining to purchase and sales.
To monitor the risk profiles of the portfolios against benchmarks and relative to constraints.
To carry out and maintain analysis of the investments held in the UK and Internationally.
To maintain appropriate information flow to the team and to manage external supplier relationships and interpret and analyse the data.
Working with internal and external teams to ensure the delivery of appropriate board reporting and business plans to clients within agreed deadlines.
To act as the principal point of contact between the investment team and the client relationship and Marketing teams, coordinating responses to RFPs / RFIs together with regular reporting to clients.
Involvement in research support for new business initiatives and areas as directed.
To develop a detailed understanding of the real estate data, including systems, definitions and applications and act as the principal point of contact for the Fund Management Team for key information, data and analytics relating to the Client Portfolio.
Work collaboratively with the team to share best practices and process improvements.
Be an active contributor to the Real Estate teams involvement in the wider firms Data Governance project. Identify areas for potential improvement in terms of information gathering, processing and presentation.
Working alongside the ESG real estate team on data interpretation, delivery of reports and market analysis.
To acquire knowledge of the activities within the portfolio and at Fund level, working with the Real Estate team to provide support and input as appropriate.
Analyse data to attribute sources of performance and risk. Support the analysis behind the maintenance of the strategic view formation process. Assist in guiding the maintenance and enhancement of systems to facilitate this.
Assisting with purchase and sale recommendations by providing analytical support to help with the decision-making process. Assist in the production of investment committee reports if required.
Take responsibility for the production and delivery of quarterly reporting to Clients as well as any ad-hoc reporting as necessary throughout the year. Continually evolve and improve the standard.
Co-ordinate forecasts and research provided by external suppliers. Make sure this is a relevant input into the work of this function and the investment teams and is used to add value to the investment process.
Circulate performance and benchmark data to the real estate team.
Use and further develop metrics to assess the overall portfolio risk. Refine a streamlined process for portfolio risk monitoring and control. Link in to and highlight requirements of the Hermes central risk measurement function.
Contribute to establishing Hermes reputation as a leading Fund Manager and embrace its principles of responsible investment, its approach to ESG, the Hermes pledge and its positive attitude to Inclusion and Diversity.
Adhere to the FCA's Conduct Rules, understanding that they set basic standards of good personal conduct.
Degree level educated or above, likely in a numerate discipline. Ideally Finance, Economics, Business or Real Estate related.
Likely experience of working in a research, analysis or financial environment or related study of these areas.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong numerical/ analytical skills and a thorough understanding of performance measurement and quantitative techniques including an ability to use Excel Spreadsheets to appraise investment decisions.
Strong knowledge of how investment returns are made from real estate and how portfolios are constructed, and risks managed.
Articulate with good presentation skill; oral and written. Strong report writing skills for board reporting and business plans.
Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, with ability to plan and organise workload.
Reliable, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Good interpersonal skills in dealing with a variety of internal and external contracts at senior level.
Flexibility and adaptability.
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills.
