Overview
As a Supermarket Assistant, you will help our customers feel the difference with Partner‑led service and a passion for food. Your drive to go the extra mile will help build trust and loyalty to the Waitrose brand.
Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply. If you join us from 5 October, any time worked between 22:00 – 06:00 will attract Night Premium at a rate of £3.50 per hour. This also applies to existing Partners enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
* Stock replenishment — ensuring shelves are full and products are in the right place at the right time for customers.
* Fulfilling online customer orders ready for our drivers to deliver to customers’ doors.
* Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and applying markdowns to items nearing their sell-by dates.
* Working with the wider shop team to support windows such as checkout, Click & Collect orders, on-demand customer orders, and more.
* Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
Essential skills/experience
* Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable skills/experience
* Experience of working in a customer facing role is welcomed.
* Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the needs of the whole branch.

Hours of Work: Part time (22.5 hours per week) on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 22:45 – 07:00.
