Our client is an award-winning, independent UK sausage and burger manufacturer who operates in North Yorkshire. We are looking for reliable and ambitious Food Production Operatives on a temporary to permanent basis. What will my role look like? As a Food Production Operative, you will be under the support of the shift supervisor, assisting with the smooth running of food production. You will start in the mixing room and work your way through the production line where required. Opportunity to progress throughout the factory is available and encouraged. Weekly shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 08.00 - 17.30 (the successful candidate must be flexible to work additional hours). Benefits: Free on-site parking. De boxing meat – removing plastic from frozen meat. Record all batch codes and label mixes correctly. Achieving daily output targets. Loading machines with raw ingredients and ensuring the production line runs smoothly. Always wear appropriate PPE. Each product requires specific PPE. Report issues or equipment damage to the line manager. Accurately complete required paperwork and checks. Ensure segregation between meat and veg products. Always adhere to all health & safety procedures. Take responsibility when using machinery and issued knives, reporting any issues or equipment damage to the line manager. Packing finished products with correct product labelling. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous food production experience is a plus (training provided). Ensuring all duties are carried out in a safe and proper manner, using your knowledge of basic Food Hygiene, HACCP and induction information. Excellent punctuality. Ability to communicate at all levels of the business. Knowledge of Health and Safety practices. Physically able to stand for long periods of time in a chilled environment. The ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure is important. Able to work with own initiative and as part of a team. Flexible and willing to work extra hours during busy periods.
