Job title: Production Technician Machinist (CNC & Manual) Location: Rochester Salary\: £31,000 – £37,000 depending on experience What you’ll be doing\: Setting up and running manual machines & 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines using Siemens controls panel Using various data from sketches to 3rd angle 2D drawings and will be expected to manufacture parts by programming CNC mills using shop mill understanding geometrical tolerances Manufacturing small batch/prototype components ranging from highly accurate components through to demonstrator items within time and budget You will be required to self-inspect parts prior to finishing using the appropriate measuring method and equipment Ensuring all manufacturing activities are undertaken in line with company process and procedures including any SHE requirements Your skills and experiences: Essential: Experience of manual and CNC milling Be able to set, operate different machine tools Able to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders Excellent hand skills when working with a variety of tools Desirable: Completed mechanical training/ qualifications that include machining Benefits\: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Production team\: We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Production Technician Machinist/CNC & Manual at our site in Rochester. You will work with a small team within a development machine shop producing tight tolerance components to support in house engineering department during development and we are looking for a machinist with CNC and Manual experience who will machine products working closely with a broad range of stakeholders to produce the end product.
