John Scott Works manufactures, designs, and installs mezzanine floors. All aspects of designing, manufacturing and installation of the floors are carried out in‑house by John Scott Works employees. Using state‑of‑the‑art robot welding machines and the luxury of three roll forming lines we truly are independent.
We are in the business of Building Trust. To help maintain our growth curve, John Scott Works are looking for a Junior CAD Trainee. Customer focus and attention to detail are key.
Junior CAD Trainee
As a Junior CAD Trainee you will be joining a fast‑growing department where every day has a new challenge. You will be trained to design mezzanine floors, and make the associated calculations, liaising with our customers to give an impression of how their floor will look within their building using our 3D Hi‑CAD software, discussing requirements and producing fabrication drawings for production.
The position will have an initial contract period of two years, during which you will spend time across all of our departments, learning about our products from sales, project management and design, to manufacture and install.
There will be incremental pay increases during the two year training period, based upon your progress, with the goal of a full engineering position within the business at the completion of two years. The post training salary will be £30k basic.
You must be/have:
* Self‑motivated, honest, and trustworthy
* Able to work independently and within a team
* Excellent computer skills, with MS office‑based programs among others
* Willingness to learn within multiple disciplines
* Strong communication skills and a good foundation within mathematics are essential
* Internal training program across all departments provided
* No prior experience required as all training will be provided
Rate of Pay / Benefits
* £25k per annum starting wage. Full‑time, Contract
* Working Hours 40 per week
* Monday to Friday only. 7am-3:30pm working hours
* 23‑day holiday + Bank Holidays
* Profit sharing bonus
* Sick pay + NEST pension
