An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Injection Moulding Setter to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment within the plastics industry. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in injection moulding who is passionate about process optimisation, quality, and continuous improvement. Job Role: Lead Setter – Injection Moulding Hours: Continental Shifts (12-hour days & nights | 4 on, 4 off) Salary: £40,884 Location: Hull The Role As Lead Setter, you will play a key role in ensuring production processes run efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for setting, monitoring, and optimising machinery, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the wider production team. This position requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving ability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Set up and start injection moulding machines and auxiliary equipment Perform mould changes in line with production schedules Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure consistent product quality Troubleshoot process issues, including defects and machine faults Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of moulds and equipment Carry out quality checks on raw materials and finished products Accurately document process changes, maintenance, and production data Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve efficiency Train and mentor junior setters and new team members Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards About You Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in polymer processing or similar Minimum 2 years' experience in injection moulding operations Strong knowledge of injection moulding machinery and processes Experience working with a range of plastic resins Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Knowledge of mould setup and maintenance procedures Experience with extrusion blow moulding (desirable) What's on Offer Competitive salary Continental shift pattern offering structured work-life balance (4 on, 4 off) Opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive manufacturing environment Ongoing training and development opportunities If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact and further develop your career in plastics manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you.
