Key Duties
* Lead the inter‑professional module delivery for health care professional programmes on the Bangor and Wrexham campuses.
* Organise and coordinate module delivery, teaching, supervision and assessment.
* Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise projects and mark assessments with a focus on inter‑professional working.
* Develop teaching materials and methodologies, such as course design and assessment; act as module coordinator or contribute to module coordination.
* Provide high‑quality pastoral and academic support to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
* Complete administrative duties as designated by the Head of School.
Teaching Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials tailored to diverse student backgrounds and learning styles.
* Motivate students for proactive engagement and give constructive feedback on their work.
* Keep abreast of new professional, educational and related developments in health and care.
* Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects; act as personal tutor.
* Contribute to programme development and deliver scholarship activities in line with University strategies.
* Publish and share scholarship in books, articles and peer‑reviewed journals.
* Ensure compliance with professional bodies (NMC/HCPC) and maintain personal professional development.
* Engage with stakeholders in health and care education and improve practice learning circuits.
* Participate in strategic and project activities that enhance student engagement and reduce attrition.
* Lead the development and redesign of new and existing modules.
Administrative & Wider Contributions
* Participate in student recruitment and induction procedures (e.g., open days).
* Support management of programmes, including exam organisation and accreditation as a module co‑ordinator.
* Assist with marketing of programmes and link activities.
* Participate in school boards, task groups and community engagement initiatives.
* Disseminate information about the School’s portfolio and capture stakeholder intelligence.
Other Duties
* Participate in performance reviews and developmental activities.
* Comply with equality policies, Dignity at Work, Study Policy and the Welsh Language Scheme.
* Maintain duty of care regarding health, safety and wellbeing.
* Adhere to health and safety policies, risk assessments and financial/legal responsibilities.
Person Specifications
Qualifications & Training
* Degree in a relevant subject area.
* Professional registration (e.g., NMC, HCPC).
Desirable Qualifications
* Postgraduate degree.
* PGCert in Teaching Qualification or equivalent.
Teaching Experience
* Solid knowledge of contemporary policy and practice in health and care.
* Evidence of teaching in clinical or academic settings.
Desirable Teaching Experience
* Experience in module development and delivery in higher education.
* Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
Scholarship Experience
* Capability to develop and manage projects and disseminate findings at conferences.
Desirable Scholarship Experience
* Capability to publish scholarship in peer‑reviewed journals, conferences and other media.
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Strong teamwork and initiative skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Competent computer skills (MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel) and proficiency with Blackboard and other online learning platforms.
Other Essentials
* Appreciation of bilingual context in healthcare delivery and university education across North Wales.
* Ability to travel across campus and, if necessary, placement areas.
Desirable
* Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh.
