We are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West who are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join their public sector partnership for regeneration programmes. They’re seeking an Interim Finance Manager to play a key role in delivering financial excellence during this transformative journey.
Role: Finance Manager
Location: South West
Set-up: Hybrid – ideally 2 days per week on-site
Rate: £237 per day via umbrella, inside IR35
Duration: currently signed off until the end of June 2026
Hours: Full-time position
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead on the preparation of financial reports, including management accounts, cashflows, and variance analysis across corporate and project areas
2. Develop financial models and multi-year budgets, and support the assessment of financial implications for major infrastructure and development projects
3. Interrogate forecasts and cost plans provided by third parties, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate outturn predictions
4. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and LLP-specific tax requirements VAT, CIS, Stamp Duty)
5. Improve and embed financial systems, processes, and controls, working across teams and with stakeholders to drive accountability and transparency
Skills & Experience Required:
6. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
7. End-to-end finance process expertise, including reporting, controls, and year-end procedures
8. Proficiency in accounting systems, with preference for experience using Xero
9. Strong project accounting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a hands-on, solutions-driven approach
