Overview We are seeking an experienced and hands on Warehouse Supervisor to join our clients team and oversee their warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily activities, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This role requires strong leadership and training/coaching skills and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems and e-commerce processes.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily warehouse operations; including goods-in/out, order fulfilment
Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational efficiency.
Manage a team of warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance management.
Ensure efficient unloading of shipping containers and receiving processes, ensuring accurate inventory management and timely dispatch of goods.
Implement and maintain effective materials handling procedures to optimise space utilisation and workflow.
Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to coordinate logistics activities and improve service delivery.
Utilise the Warehouse Management System to track orders, inventory levels, manage stock movements, and generate reports along with Excel reports
Review and improve on current picking / packing processes to streamline and maximise efficiencies, including hand scanners and trolley picking for e-commerce orders
Conduct regular audits of warehouse processes to identify areas for improvement in business processes.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
Perform heavy lifting as required, assisting team members during peak periods or when necessary.
Skills
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar warehouse supervisory or team leader role
Excellent IT skills required using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Excel or similar warehouse management systems is essential.
Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques and best practices within a warehouse setting.
Familiarity with logistics operations and third-party logistics (3PL) management.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate, develop and lead a diverse workforce.
Experience in unloading shipping containers and managing inbound stock.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily operations.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on improving business processes within the warehouse environment.
FLT Counterbalance Licence (essential)
